Membership Rewards
Advocacy When most people think of PTA membership, they think of volunteering at their child's school at a carnival or other fun, educational or uplifting event, and though these opportunities exist in abundance, there is much, much more to PTA! Because the PTA's mandate is to advocate on behalf of the children in their area, first and foremost, a PTA member is a voice. Membership offers you the unique opportunity to speak for the children, teachers, administrators and members of your community within the PTA organization and in the wider world through PTA's unparalleled legislative advocacy. Getting involved in your local PTA not only benefits your child, but ALL children as you lend YOUR voice to the thousands of others in the Nevada PTA. While the concept of advocacy might not initially seem like a "reward", the benefits of advocating for your own children and the children in your community are immeasurable, the rewards incalculable. Involvement Parent involvement has long been thought to be the key to fostering successful students. PTA offers unlimited opportunities for you to become a more involved parent. Each local unit devises and produces it's own series of events, educational opportunities, and member-to-member connections that allow you to actively engage with your child, their friends and the families that support your community. Support Supporting your child's educational environment, your child's educational experience, and the children in your community not only gives you a great sense of pride of accomplishment but also provides a platform for all children to succeed, becoming better prepared adults and future supporters of their communities! Connections The friends you'll make during your PTA tenure, you'll have for a lifetime. Dedicated and caring volunteers make up the vast majority of PTA members and those same individuals form long-lasting bonds with one another. There is nothing quite like the friendships made at PTA! Satisfaction Knowing that you have made a difference in the life of your child, in the lives of his friends and in the lives of the other children in your community is a satisfaction beyond measure. With the help of PTA parents, each and every child has the opportunity to shine to his best abilities.
