Units are required to have Insurance. Nevada PTA has a group policy the covers the basic needs of a school PTA, or PTSA. Payments are due to the Nevada PTA office by October 15th  of each year.

Most school districts require a copy of your Insurance Certificate on file. Certificates are mail out shortly after your payment has been received. Aim's website offers more information, and important links to details about your coverage.

One of the advantages of PTA is because we hold trainings for our officers we get an discount on our insurance. The importance of attending training and putting that information into practice lowers the risk for our insurance company and your PTA. Please take advantage and send everyone on your board to leadership training.

NV PTA PACKAGE POLICY - $155/year

General Liability Insurance...  Has a child cut open an eyebrow in a moonwalk at your fall festival or broken an arm at your roller skating rink party?  The General Liability protects local PTA members and volunteers against liability lawsuits arising from these kinds of activities.  The policy limit is $1,000,000, with no deductible. 

Bond Insurance...  What do you do when you discover $20,000 of your fund raising money has been embezzled or stolen?   The Bond Insurance will replace your fund raising money and avoid having you turned over to a collection agency.  The bond limit is $25,000 with a $250 deductible. 

Officers Liability Insurance... As an officer of the PTA, you could be strapped with legal bills because someone has accused you of misrepresenting or mismanaging the PTA.  The Officers Liability will provide protection from situations like these.  The policy limit is $1,000,000 with a $1,500 deductible.

Optional Policies

Accident Medical Insurance:  The Accident Medical policy is designed to compliment your General Liability policy.  This policy provides medical coverage for activities that are excluded from the General Liability Policy such as automobile, mechanical ride, watercraft, and fireworks coverage and provides additional medical payment coverage to help deter lawsuits.  This is not a replacement of your liability policy!  The Accident Medical limits are $10,000, $25,000, and $50,000 with no deductible.  The annual premiums are $90, $95, & $100.                                                                                                           

Property Insurance... Raffle merchandise, auction items, fund raising merchandise, and PTA property would be financially difficult to replace if they were damaged or stolen.  The property insurance will replace PTA property damaged or lost due to theft or natural hazard.  The policy limit is $10,000 with a $250 deductible.  The annual premium is $100.

Extra Coverage

Units are able to purchase additional coverage for special projects, and or events. For example Kay Carl E.S. has a wonderful touch football afterschool program. They hold practice during the week and have games with other schools on weekends. Concern was brought up over a child getting hurt during a game. They were able to work with AIM Insurance to obtain additional coverage to cover the kids, and coaches.
